We are proud to announce that MPG Automotive Services has partnered with local non-profit Mended Little Hearts of Tucson.
They provide much needed support to Southern Arizona Heart families who have children born with congenital heart defects (CHD). They offer support, encouragement, and information to CHD families in hospitals and communities across the country.
We are collecting supplies for these families at all of our locations. Please consider dropping by to any of our (6) MPG Automotive locations and help fill our donation boxes. All donations are packaged as “Bravery Bags” and given to the families while in the hospital to help support their child in need. These bags include everything as family would need for an unplanned hospital stay.
Did you know that 1 in 10 babies born in America (about 40,000 each year) have something wrong with their heart at birth? Congenital heart disease is a lifelong chronic condition resulting from problems with the heart that are present at birth. It’s crazy to think that between 2 and 4 million Americans are living with congenital heart defects.
Mended Little Hearts of Tucson works closely with doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers locally and throughout the U.S. to bring hope and help where it’s needed most. They offer group meetings to encourage and support families sharing experiences and discussing issues that affect their families in the world of CHD.
Health education information is crucial to the CHD family. The local Mended Little Hearts of Tucson offers seminars, workshops, and various heart groups along with the latest news in pediatric cardiology including treatment options, social support, research innovations, and other topics to CHD families.
You can donate items such as:
Small packets of trail mix, peanuts, mixed nuts, raisins or sun flower seeds. Trail size shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and lotion. Writing pens, granola bars, fruit snacks, chapsticks, children’s & adult tooth brushes. Word search books, coloring books, crayons, markers, colored pencils. Small to medium stuffed animals (must be from a smoke free home). Newborn socks and hats (can be homemade-knitted and must be from a smoke free home).
